The Yawning Bay Campaign Chronicles 1: Cast of Characters

Art by AWP Art Director Sean Hollenhors!

This is the third post on the blog that records details from Altered Worlds Press's current old school D&D home game, The Yawning Bay Campaign, but the first in the ongoing series which will record the AWP crew's adventures. Not long ago we were posting extended Twitter threads detailing the ongoing chronicles of our campaign, but have decided to move future installments here.

As has been recorded in our Building A Campaign series (find part one here and part two here), Altered Worlds Press is currently playing an old school version of D&D using the incredible Astonishing Swordsmen and Sorcerers of Hyperborea rules published by North Wind Adventures. The campaign is a sandbox centering on the cities surrounding Yawning Bay and its environs, including the nearby megadungeon, Stonehell (a published dungeon written by Michael Curtis using the Labyrinth Lord rules).

As we move into recording the current campaign chronicles on the blog, it's important to get to know the player characters. There are seven players in the group, and the campaign plays out each Friday evening over Roll20. The characters:

Xull (AT-AT) - 5th level Common Man Barbarian (fighter subclass)

Bior Skardsson - 5th level Viking Monk (cleric subclass)

Luigsech - 3rd level Kimmeri-Kelt Ice Lord Warlock. Follows Yoon-deh, Goddess of Nature (stylizes herself as a witch, fighter subclass)

Rianorix (Jenkins) - 6th level Pict Priest of Boreas, God of the Wind (cleric subclass)

Tan Chama - 6th level Common Man Pyromancer of Helios, God of the Sun (magician subclass)

Xandraous ("Beaker" Took) - 5th level Common Man Scout. Follows Rel, God of Thieves (thief subclass)

Fennig Grau - 5th level Common Man Ranger. Follows Yoon-deh, Goddess of Nature (fighter subclass)

Currently, the party also pays several mercenaries to accompany them in their adventures including Griselda, Kriemhild, and Etzel, heavy crossbowmen, and Mugsy, heavy infantryman.

Stay tuned for our next installment as we proceed with recording our campaign chronicles!
